Stephen Mann

Director of LEAD Forest School

Steve has a BA (Hons) in Sport & Outdoor Education, a PGCE and completed the Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP).  He was head of sport in an Ofsted ‘outstanding’ SEN school based in Sunderland. Steve then worked as a regional quality assurance manager supporting vocational education programmes within professional sports clubs. In 2016, Steve set up LEAD Education and The LEAD Academy working in partnership with schools, outdoor adventure centres and performing arts studios across the country.

Dave Rylance

Director of Consulo Education

Dave is an ex-headteacher with over 30 years educational experience.  He has worked with some of the most challenging students, including those exhibiting SEMH issues and other SEN. He is an ex-soldier, outdoor adventure and bushcraft instructor as well as a forest school leader. He has taught (and used) survival and bushcraft skills around the world, from deserts to jungle to our native woodland. Dave is also a behaviour management consultant delivering training to schools and education providers across the country.

Barry Simpson

Director of Wild Track Wilderness

Barry was a nature reserve warden and has worked as a parks and countryside ranger for the council.  He has an HND in woodland management and has also worked as an arborist. He has over 15 years’ experience in learning difficulties education and has worked for a variety of mental health services gaining recognised qualifications in autism and SEN. Barry is a highly qualified forest and beach school leader and has supported many schools and learners of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
